Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeastern Ohio is making a positive impact on the lives of the boys in our Residential Treatment Center. Through a generous gift of $15,000, RMHC-NEO has enabled CCH to purchase badly needed appliances for the dorms, medical equipment for our health clinic, and brand new laptops for exclusive use by our residents.
New commercial grade microwaves have now replaced older, inefficient models in each dormitory unit. With an increased number of meals being consumed on the units, these sturdy, rapid heating and easy to clean microwaves have made mealtime much easier and more enjoyable.
The addition of a new commercial grade washer and dryer has our residents looking and feeling good in their freshly laundered apparel. As an added bonus, these new appliances are being used to prevent the re-appearance of menacing bed bugs that were being carried into the building on children’s clothing.
Our nursing staff couldn’t be happier with their new vital signs monitor and triage equipment. It is extremely important that we record and maintain accurate medical information about our residents and our new equipment is effectively handling this essential task.
The appearance of new laptops has certainly sparked the interest of our residents. At present, our IT team is working to establish a safe and secure internet connection. While these laptops will be perfect for completing school assignments and educational projects, the entertainment and gaming possibilities will no doubt generate the most excitement among our boys.
CCH is truly grateful for the support of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeastern Ohio. This grant improves the quality of life for the children entrusted to our care and is helping to make their lives better each and every day. We also wish to thank Mr. Robert Jursich, Jr., our local McDonald’s owner/operator, for providing his endorsement for this grant.
