CCH is extremely blessed to receive support from many different places and from many different people. Our latest supporters are two fine young ladies from the Girl Scouts. While these two philanthropic Scouts wish to remain anonymous, their hard work and thoughtful deed should not go unnoticed.
Working toward a Community Achievement Award, they searched for non-profit, child caring organizations in the area and contacted CCH on their own. After some preliminary discussion with Kate Vinciquerra, Director of Development, this dynamic duo developed their plan to assemble a personal box of essential school items for each resident. Each box contains pencils, pens, crayons, markers, colored pencils, ruler, erasers, and tissues.
This industrious pair conducted fundraising events, like Bake Sales, to raise the money to purchase the items. They solicited 45 empty shoe boxes from a local shoe store to hold the items and carefully wrapped each one. On the outside, they posted the words from a poem, well-known to our residents, “I am the Master of my Fate; I am the Captain of my Soul.”
With help from their moms, they delivered the finished boxes to our Residential Program for distribution to our kids. Along with the boxes, they also donated a new Xbox 360 NBA 2K18 game for the boys and the remaining cash from their fundraising efforts.
To these two wonderful Scouts, we salute you and thank you for your support of our program.
