Recently, six enthusiastic members of the Church on the Rise volunteered their morning at our Residential Treatment Center. At this time of year, our main volunteer project is raking leaves.
This group of young adults was up to the task and managed to clear the front yard and driveway. While their efforts improved the looks of the grounds, their work had important, additional benefits.
As lovely as the fallen leaves may be, their sheer abundance presents safety and maintenance issues, such as potential slips/falls on wet leaves, flooding from clogged storm drains, and wet/moldy leaves filling window/stair wells. So, we wholeheartedly thank these volunteers for not only beautifying our facility, but for also making it a safer and healthier place to be.
